Simply Organic
Beauty, the old way.
Fourteen+ essentials, one honest promise. Everything we sell already existed — in a steel tin by the basin, in a jar at the back of the pantry, in a bottle warmed on a Sunday afternoon. We didn’t improve on any of it. We just stopped the corners being cut.
Where It Started
A recipe that never left the family.
Every household in this part of the world has an ubtan. Ours was written down once, badly, on the back of an envelope — gram flour, sandalwood, turmeric, and a list of aromatics that had to be explained rather than measured. It was made for weddings, and then it was made for everything.
When we started buying the ingredients ourselves we found the problem: almost nothing on the shelf was what it claimed to be. Hina cut with dye. Turmeric stretched pale. Oils pressed hot because it doubles the yield.
So we did it ourselves, badly at first and then properly — one ingredient at a time, from people we could call. Fourteen-plus essentials later, the promise hasn’t changed.
What We Hold To
Three rules, and no exceptions.
One ingredient
If the label says turmeric, the bag holds turmeric. No anti-caking agents, no rice flour making up the weight, no “proprietary blend” hiding a shortfall.
Cold, never hot
Heat is cheap and fast, and it takes the good out. Our oils are pressed cold and bottled unrefined, which is why they smell of what they are.
Known hands
Hina from Punjab, salt from Khewra, moringa from growers we buy from every season. Small quantities, honest prices, no anonymous middle.
The Slow Letter
Rituals, not marketing.
One note a month — how to use what you bought, what is in season, and the occasional recipe from the family book. No noise.
